Monster

Monster

A Poem by Blunt
"

Hush. Hush. Hush

"

Manaic laughter rang through.

hush. it will all be over.

But mummy, i can still hear it..

It scares me.

hush. It will be gone.

Mummy, then why are you crying?

Mummy, if it isn't scary,

why are you trembling?

hush darling. I will go over and look.

Mummy, don't go.

what if it comes and get me?

Mummy left. Left me all alone.

I can still hear those laughters.

Am i going mad?

I can hear people shouting.

Plates being thrown.

The shatter of silence.

mummy?

mummy?

mummy?

I crept out and there

I held my breath

I look hard into the eyes of the monster.

what are you staring at?

hehehehe. Come here.

Mummy.. where are you..

why is there a monster in place of you..

hush. hush. hush.

Enveloped in the darkness

mummy. where did you go.

ouch. The monster is hurting me.

mummy. mummy. make it stop.

but i'm only greeted with the same words

hush. hush. hush.

I like the way it is written from the child's point of view =]
The way the child is so vulnerable and helpless in the poem makes me suddenly feel protective of the child while reading it.

I liked it however im not so certain why. I do know that it has a good measure of charm. Also, the recurring imagery made it pleasant.
