LOST HEARTS

A Story by candaceflynn

Ever wondered where you stand in other people’s life? I bet you would like to pop the question to him/her but couldn’t cause sometimes we don’t want to hear the answer to the question. There are times that we know what answer to the question is but just couldn’t handle hearing it. But what if we were wrong all the time? We would have risked all possibilities in mere assumptions of what we think we know.

Almost everybody may have wished once or more times in his/her life that they could read somebody’s mind in order to act upon it. But what if we really can do it? Everything will be out in the open. There would be chaos all around.

Do you really want to know? At times we are almost out of words, we just want to say the word or ask the question but we’re afraid that it will all end. And you know it will hurt. Even though you’re in a place where you don’t know if you can even call it a relationship or not, you like to stay inside it. You feel comfortable and special. Though at times when your mind wanders, you think is this really what this is gonna be? You feel a little pain inside your chest. Then after, he/she will say/do things that make your heart flutter and everything is okay again.  You’re back in point one.

Maybe once you’ve figured you’re going in circles. Lots of times you’ve told yourself it’s enough and you have to stop it. But then you find yourself in that very same situation again.

It’s in human nature to know between right and wrong. But most often than not, we can’t tell if it’s a mistake or not. Well who knows? To quote Lily on How I Met Your Mother series,

OK, yes it's a mistake. I know it's a mistake, but there are certain things in life where you know it's a mistake but you don't really know it's a mistake because the only way to really know it's a mistake is to make the mistake and look back and say 'yep, that was a mistake.' So really, the bigger mistake would be to not make the mistake, because then you'd go your whole life not knowing if something is a mistake or not. And d****t, I've made no mistakes! I've done all of this; my life, my relationship, my career, mistake-free. Does any of this make sense to you?

Funny thing about the future or tomorrow is that we don’t even know what’s going to happen. So I say do what makes you happy and live in the moment. Damn what they say. F*ck what they think. Cause what matters most is what YOU think of yourself and only you can decide what happiness is for you.
