BETRAYED

Words came out your mouth like flowers

Every color, every kind; beautiful

Each phrase, every line; perfect

 

You were like a garden full of pretty things

All the colors and fragrance; enticing

Like bees and butterflies; so alive

 

But just like a person so in love, I was blinded

Like a beautiful show, it was practiced

A face hidden within a mask

 

Then the smoke cleared

 

All the flowers, they were plastic

A cactus touched hard enough to bleed

Behind a mask, mischievous face revealed

 

Trust put into a two-faced man

Care given to the wind

Love thrown to space

 

Just like that, I was BETRAYED.

A powerful flow of emotion and ink. It sucks when people turn out to be a different shade or hue than what we first view them as. I suppose the best action in these cases, is to treat it as a life experience and learning lesson and then find our horizon and keep walking down the path called destiny.
