Matchless

Matchless

A Poem by Berkley Conner Jr
"

An old poem I wrote about a lover. I ended up marrying her

"

Once I was alone

I walked this world in darkness
Don’t know what I wanted
Or where I wanted to go
I just knew
Something was missing
I was missing love
I fell in and our of love
Met many last Loves
But none of them were true
They were all false
Lost in hopelessness
But one day I stumbled on you
Unmatched in beauty and strength
You were a dove
A godsend to my soul
You erased every pin
You healed every wound so deep
My hand you hold in sweet embracement
My heart leaps for joy
You lay you’re head on my shoulder
My body goes numb
There is only one thing known
You have my heart
Locked safely away
And I have yours
With me at all times….
