"If You’ll Ever Come Back, Please Meet Me At The Shore”A Poem by CamsThis is a poem I made when I was in college. Our teacher asked us to make a sestina, and this is it. :)Sitting by the sandy shore Gazing at the breathtaking sunset I am patiently waiting for my girl Who set off to find her own life “I’ll wait for you ’til the end of time” I said, though we’ve finally waved goodbye. Once I’ve thought that there’s no such goodbye ‘Coz we both took a vow by the shore We have endured pains over time We both lay in the sands, staring at the sunset Me, caressing her, assuring her of a life That’s wonderful, for I deeply loved this girl. I give all my life to that girl But to my surprise, she said goodbye She said, “I have to find my life, I’m sick of being with you by the shore Tired of watching the sunset I’ve lost so much time.” She said she has lost so much time I wanna ask myself , how I’ve messed up with my girl I’ve done nothing wrong, as witnessed by the sunset I cannot trace he mistakes, mystery is this goodbye As I stand alone, staring blankly at the shore Trying to reflect on what she did to me, she spoiled my life. We had shared difficulties and pains of life Yet I think it is not yet our time To lay again upon the shore With the love of my life, beside my girl My greatest fear is the word “goodbye” Worst, she said it to me under the dazzling sunset. It makes me cry, reminiscing under the sunset The things we should’ve done, oh life Why are you so rude? I hate goodbye I still love her all this time Please come back to me, my girl I need you back, stay with me again at the shore. I guess, for us, this is the end of time But I believe we’ll be together again, after life And if you’ll ever come back, please meet me at the shore. *** © 2015 Cams |
