A Fall from GraceA Poem by Campbell FordI wrote this poem a few years ago and just recently found it again. I wrote it after a close friend died of a heroin overdose. I was a very inexperienced writer at the time.A Fall from Grace This poor soul’s childish cheer did not last For in the end it led him to his fall For what he conceived would be a blast Sent him tumbling off the grace’s wall But do not mock this poor soul’s fall from grace For it was only by his choice that it was allowed And as he skid broadside alongside tears, fears, and a shattered face He alone let his dreams be tragically plowed © 2011 Campbell FordAuthor's Note
