The Sightless Soldier

The Sightless Soldier

A Poem by Cameron Berry

Clipped by a propellor,
old faithful's spout of scarlet rushes.
Blindfold tourniquette, won’t you
save liberty's ringing drums?

A marcher in the war is lost.
The fright of a mute’s symphony
teeter-totters, like old gravity’s wreck.
Earth hearkens to solemn passersby.

Stumbling drunkard, shaking legs.
Momentum shrugs at resistance.
Shivering towards the stillness,
sinkhole swallows the sightless soldier.

Again! I love the trippy but insightful quality of your words; almost Gonzo style but not quite and yet still striking and provocative in the most fascinating way! You have made a fan of me!! Wow!

Thank you! Trippy is a sense that I hope to encapsulate in my writing, so that's awesome to hear :).

Well you've got a real knack for it! Keep up the good work!
Your imagery is very picturesque. You feel as if you're right there on sight. Nice work
