A Story by Chronos

“Well, do you know the area well?” Dr. Jones asked.
“Yeah, of course I do; I live out there.” Marie said with irritation.
“Okay didn’t mean to offend.” Dr. Jones apologized.
“Dr. Jones there’s a woman in the E.R with severe head trauma, moderate facial lacerations, and a broken leg.” The E.R nurse explained in a rush.
“What’s her name, nurse?” Marie asked.
“It is. . . Lucy Smith.” The nurse answered.
“That’s my sister, she’s alive, she’s alive!” Marie screamed with joy, “I thought she was murdered last night.”
“Well it seems she’s alive.” The nurse said gleefully.
“Whoa, Ms. Smith you need to rest,” Dr. Jones said, “now you need to just lie down and sleep.”
“But need to see my sister.” Marie protested.
“Miss, your body needs to heal.” Dr. Jones reasoned.
Marie sighed. He’s right I do need to sleep. “Fine, but when I wake up I want to see my sister.” Marie compromised.
