What you do

What you do

A Poem by Marina

Unintentionally picked apart
piece by piece until I lay here
scattered on a hardwood floor

You should know I was lost at first
I didn't know where to look
how was this all ever going to fit?

Now bit by bit, baby
with your changing of my view
I'm changing all of me

This desire, this need, this fire,
is something you've set alight
and I thank you, for new definitions

The irony in writing this
is knowing how you tie my tongue
and I can't form a sentence
how you speak about my eyes
when you changed how they see

In all honesty, I'm not scared, love
your heart is open and inviting
there's nothing I want more than to call it home
