Church Lilies and Cherry Cheeks

Church Lilies and Cherry Cheeks

A Poem by Marina

Lily, fair flower, your fragrence so strong
A waft of memories inhaled slow and warm
Your scent, it lingers, takes me up or down
With petals so fragile, yet majestic and secure

White is your gown when you tug at my heart
Allow it to flood when I'm feeling too much
Red is your dress when you tug at my soul
As if set in your sepals and planted to grow

Lily, fair flower, your meaning roots deep
In fertile soil where willows weep
Your traces picked up on through thickest of snow
Lily, fair flower, reap love where you're sown
