Green, green grass

Green, green grass

A Poem by Marina

I may not be the best girl,
that you've ever met
I may not be the prettiest,
or most considerate at that

I may have a record,
that should put me to shame
and I may not have cared enough,
to have ever changed my ways

I may not be the smartest,
God knows I can't count my mistakes
I may not be patient,
and rush through things with haste

I may not have any answers,
could give a guess at best.
but damn it if I don't really feel,
you should give me a chance

because I may have done things wrong
I sure fucked up a lot
but I think I now found reason,
in why people fall in love

I may be too impulsive,
I may jump from here to there
but I'd wait my whole life for you
sitting tight in this here chair

I may have thought too lightly,
of everything life has in store
but if I could call your arms home
I'd have no reason to run away anymore

that may be all that I've been doing,
looking for some greener grass
but I've never felt your love before
don't they save the best for last?
