All you need to be

All you need to be

A Poem by Marina

When the static on the radio
is all that I am hearing
through the sad songs that it's playing
and the willow-trees a-swaying
in the wind,
When the clouds all seem to gather
on the places I'd much rather be,
Then nothing could be better for me,
nothing could mean more to me,
than hello,
a sound that simply flows
to my head from the toes down on my feet,
hello is all I need
When the voice from which it leads is the one,
that makes the static and sad songs disappear,
all you need to be is near,
all you need to be is near.
When the silence is what's creeping
in the attic of my feeling
And the right words seem the wrong ones
and darkness is overcoming me
Then nothing could be better for me,
nothing could mean more to me,
than hello,
a sound that simply flows
to my head from the toes down on my feet,
hello is all I need
When the voice from which it leads is the one,
that makes the darkness and the silence dissapear,
all you need to be is near,
all you need to be is near.
'n f a cat's got your tongue,
and you get the words all wrong
If silence is your strength
and you'd rather not say jack
to me,
then all you need to be is near,
all you need to be is near,
all you need to be is, here.
