We wager lives

We wager lives

A Poem by Marina

Bombs, we wage wars,

Buy your chips at the counter

Lives in numbers

And the dealer takes, he takes

Place your bets and drop your bombs,

Whose stack will survive in the long run

That's all that matters, isn't it?

Isn't it? Who deals the last punch

Bombs, we wage wars,

Always in name of another

Who's to blame, point the finger

It's never your own head hung in shame

Take a seat, why won't you

Place your bets now, why don't you

If it was your own life at stake

It'd be different calls you'd make

Bombs, we wage wars,

Because we're powerhungry men of madness

Alice, hell, at least she could handle

Not you, not you, lives in numbers

For wars, we wager life,

Bombs, we waste life
