The Silence in the Storm

The Silence in the Storm

A Poem by Marina

The evening grew silent for a moment but brief
My feet touched down upon my balcony floor
which still held the warm rememberance of the sunny day
As my hands rested upon the rainkissed steel
framing the picture perfect view of a calming storm

The wind brushing my skin
whilst flickering lights paint the blue-grey clouds
And draw the sketchy outlines of a beautiful silence
found within none less but deafening thunder
As the wind draws my words and renders me speechless

I closed my eyes as a sigh was all that left my lips
The rain painting an image on the canvas the wind had cleaned
One of ocean waves lightly carrying heavy thoughts away from me
And inside, the wind lay still.
