My friend.

My friend.

A Poem by Marina

My friend he was like superman
He could even fly
He'd pick me up from the darkest depths
And would guide me through the night

My friend he didn't talk too much
It's not that he was shy
He was more a strong silent type
And he was alright right

And even though his heart was bruised
I knew he loved me so
We connected in a way
I think only we know

I guess he wasn't superman
though he seemed stronger than God
He was that voice that told me
Get back up, dust off, go on

I didn't have a face to give
the angel that he was
But he always appeared dark
with a light within his heart

Maybe my friend was just a mirror
of what I wished to be
Strong and independant,
a heart full of love to give

My friend he disappeared
I tried to call for him
He never seems to answer
It's like he ceased to be

But when I look inside myself
And push the dark away
I see the light I saw in him
He never went away.
