Pain

Pain

A Poem by Broken Soul

How does one forget the image of pain

Their blood may have washed away

But it has forever stained my mind

I see their face on the insides of my eyelids

When I sleep I am still reminded

Never forgetting the image of their pain

This was a touching poem which spoke to me. I once worked doing computer maintenance at a hospital and almost every day I was around human suffering. Many of the images still haunt me to this day, but none more then an infant that died at child birth. It was the first and last day I ever cried there at work. For the rest of the time there I chose to bring my tears home instead of having them there. Thank you for sharing this poem.

that stain is like a memory of touching a hot stove...always makes us flinch just thinking about it.

This is so intensely sad.

Trauma can linger for a long time. The visual suffering of others isn't something which is easy to deal with. Sometimes people need to seek help for it. A touching write from the perspective of a compassionate soul. Take good care of yourself.
