our little world

our little world

A Poem by tee

laughter echoes between us,
stuttered words and heads thrown back,
loud breaths sucked in
just to rush past smiling lips again.

fingers laced together,
a single soft squeeze,
another returned.

gazes gravitating towards each other,
colliding in an explosion of energy,
lips pulled up slightly at the corners
in knowing smiles that only we understand-

as if we were in our own little world,
full of soft eyes
and slow touches.

breathless words, hidden
between intertwined fingers,
while everything else
flashes by.

lips pulled up slightly at the corners

. . .
(I hope you don't mind, I'm putting my favorite part here.)

This poem reminds me of late nights and parties, and the kisses and touches that are shared in them. With someone you care deeply about, everything feels like so much more. Even if there's nothing necessarily 'intimate' about your hand in another's, a smile shared between talk, it still feels surreal, like you never want to let go of them again. That's what this poem says to me, and I can't wait to see more of your work.

Please, keep writing, I'd love to see it! ;]
