Butterfly Dreams

Butterfly Dreams

A Poem by Carissa Marie

Fly away my dreams,
Flutter away from me.
But please do not go far-
For I would want to catch you again
When reality permits.
I am bound to this realm,
While you are free to roam around-
So do so.
Go see the world,
But come back to me with renewed wonder;
See the world, and attempt to grow bigger.
My physical form is limited,
But you are not.
Do not be afraid to reach for the stars,
As I am at the moment.
You are limitless,
And that is a beautiful.
You are powerful,
While I am at the mercy of life.
Someday we will be together again,
And you will take me far away from here;
You will take me to the depths of the earth,
And to the center of the universe.
Together you and I,
We will be free from this world.
But until then,
Let me stay in my cocoon of reality,
While you roam around and live;
Live for me-
My butterfly dreams.
