Unveiling

Unveiling

A Poem by Carissa Marie

Tonight I will remove the veil
That has blinded my eyes from the light
That could have guided the path away from you.
I will unclothe the cloak of shadows from my skin,
And let my bare, unadulterated body
Feel the weightlessness of air that has
Not clung to my sinful scent for far too long.
The cold will surely seep through my bones,
And the warmth could burn me,
But I welcome it.
I welcome the pain that screams of my freedom.
I welcome it with such fervor
That I could taste it through the tips of my tongue
And through the pores of my skin;
This strange and alien feeling of bliss from the freedom
I have been deprived.

Tonight I will be free from the life of blindness,
Tonight I will be free from the life of sinfulness,
Tonight I will open my eyes and be totally naked.
And when tomorrow comes,
I will be freed from you.

Wow...Powerfully-written piece set up perfectly by the opening two lines, and finished the same way with the last.
I am glad I found this, Thanks for sharing.
