Of love and art

Of love and art

A Poem by Carissa Marie

She is an artist, while I'm a poet.
A painter versus a writer.
She will paint you
In vivid colors to make you come alive,
While with me you are black and white.
You will never be a frozen eternal portrait,
But through the spaces in my poetry,
You will be immortalized.
She will fill her canvass with your beauty,
While I can only hint at your beauty in vagueness,
In a series of saddest lines.
It may be true that they will see you in your glory,
A masterpiece made from her strong hands
But your essence will fill a private space in my gallery
Where I will be the only spectator.

She is Picasso,
While I Neruda.
We may have different ways to use our pens
But beyond the spaces of canvasses and papers,
Our love for you will transcend.

You are welcome(:
A personal perspective in words is worth many more paintings. In words you not only catch the life, but the meaning of the person, their history and all the aspects of what they mean to you.
I have never seen a painting that can say all that.
Beautiful words, flowing from your pen.
