Poetry Dump #6

A Poem by Carissa Marie

Take a look at me,
I'm a reflection on a shattered glass,
Jagged and distorted.
I have no soft edges,
All I have are shards and missing pieces,
Of what was once a smooth gem.
His sharp words have pierced through me,
And left me with holes
I have no intention to fill.
I could have saved myself,
I could have worn my suit of armor,
But his love had left me unarmed.
I knew it was foolish to fight,
And I lost the battle before it even start.

Thank you for reading. :)
Those suits of armour are too heavy on the soul. We show our fragility and it gets broken, leaving us just pieces of who we were. Beautifully written.
