Lone star

I trudge along the path, 

With no one to keep me company.

I look up to check if it's still there -

That lone star that never leaves. 

How many nights did I look up the skies, 

To find that one that always stay. 

I spent so many nights -

Staring, 

Wishing, 

For some miracle to happen;

For that one to come alive.

How many lovers have I lost,

How many times have I broke my heart. 

And yet that lone star stays the same,

Unlike the ones I used to hold.

 I yearn for years to touch it, 

To live within its warmth. 

 To thaw away the coldness deep within me, 

And to be with my beloved star.

But I know dreams are meant to be dreamt, 

Just like how stars are meant to be adored, 

And so I trudge along the path, 

Content with knowing I am not alone.

Reading this poem I can't help but think that the "lone star" is actually a metaphor for something else it has a much deeper meaning then what is presented to us in the poem, a very good poem
