Beautiful Irony

Beautiful Irony

A Poem by Carissa Marie

You are a monster dressed in a suit.
A demon hiding behind an angelic face.
You smile at me in my waking hours,
Then you turn around and haunt me in my sleep.
You are sorrow,
You are anguish,
Concealed in dazzling gaze.

You filled my cup with poison,
Taunting me 'til I drink.
Then you kissed me in all sweetness,
Til' I have no more air to breathe.
You danced with me through the night,
My head in a fuzzy haze,
Until the time has come and -
Alas!

Stabbed a knife through my chest,
And then begged for me not to bleed.

I like the story and the logic of the poem.
"Stabbed a knife through my chest,
And then begged for me not to bleed. "
Hard to separate the saints from the sinners. Everybody hide their true needs. Thank you for sharing the excellent poetry.
