Time Traveler

Time Traveler

A Poem by Carissa Marie

With a sudden rush of air,
I was back in time.

I could smell your scent,
Among the bushes of flowers.
Like sweet lilies,
Fragrant to a fault;
That smell, that used to linger,
In the four corners of my walls.

I could see the soft curls of your hair,
Like telephone wires,
Entangled and bedazzled;
I remember how it used to feel between my fingers,
As we lie awake in bed.

I could feel your warmth,
A gentle sunshine,
That glows and melts my heart;
A simple hug, A tiny kiss, A beautiful smile,
Was all it took to make you shine.

I wish I could stay here,
In my memories wherein you reside.
But like any other time-traveler,
I know I have to go back.

I have to get back from your memories,
To the time where you're not mine.
