The culprit

The culprit

A Poem by Carissa Marie

She drags on to find the culprit.
She sees the trail of blood.
It leads away from her
And yet she is stained.
It is her heart that he took
 That made the mess.
She clutches to whatever remains of her:
A body.
No heart,
No spirit,
No soul.
She continues her journey
Hoping to regain her heart.
She stopped for a while
As the trail led to a dead end.
With a confused mind,
She inspects the wall.
There was no way to go but up,
Where she believes he went.
Too tired to climb,
She began to break the wall.
Little by little, the wall starts to crack.
But she could only make a tiny hole.
She started to make a bigger hole,
Hoping to peep through.
Finally, it is done.
But at the moment her eyes made contact
With her shattered heart lying on the ground
And the culprit happily leaving it
For it to rot out of her reach,
She was already gone.
