Silent reverieA Poem by Carissa MarieWith only the soft moonlight To light my way, I've gone into the narrow walk Beside the bay. 'Twas a quiet night I noticed. Only the sound of waves splashing into the brick wall And the occasional howls of wisps of air Could be heard. It was as if I was walking Into a bubble of my own world. Deserted as it may seem, I revered into the quiet calmness That became my solace. I enjoyed the walk that never seemed to end. How great it felt To feel free, To be alive, And to breathe. But alas! Like the great cycle of life, The walk had to stop. And as I see the haunting shadows waiting for me At the end of the tunnel of my sanctuary, I knew that my chaotic misery will soon hug me Ending my beautiful silent reverie.
