From the eyes of a restless mind

From the eyes of a restless mind

A Poem by Carissa Marie

From the middle of the room she sat.
Waiting,
Observing.
She saw faces whom she never saw before.
Staring,
Watching.
She fidgets in her seat.
Nervously,
Scared.
She hears voices all around,
Whispering,
Taunting.
She closes her eyes and counts to three.
One,
Two,
Three.
She opens them again.
Slowly,
Carefully.
She hears the ticking of the clock.
Tick,
Tock.
She breathes a sigh of relief.
She stands and looks around.
They're gone.

An interesting dramatic poem that catches the reader and keeps his attention. Thoughtful. Evocative. Fine.
