A thousand eyesA Poem by Carissa MarieA THOUSAND EYES A thousand eyes, they stare at me. With every move I make, I'm all they see. They see me laugh, They watch me cry. My every little action, Judged by a thousand eyes. Those thousand eyes, they pierced my soul. Equipped with dagger looks, They ripped me whole. They stared and whispered, They spread some lies. My innocence tampered, By a thousand eyes. The thousand eyes, has engulfed me whole. And with a swift cutting motion, I reached my goal. I moaned, I whimpered, As I ran out of breath. But the cruel eyes couldn't see, So I have nothing to fret. Now the thousand eyes, they grieve for me. The innocent monster now passed and gone, For all to see. They were too harsh, No need to explain. The guilt and repentance in their eyes, Unquestionably mixed with shame. The love and acceptance, I wanted Has come too late. Now they have to live with the terrible truth, That has been my fate.
