A Poem by Carissa Marie

Little by little, I moved closer.
Little by little,
Until he's within my reach.
First I stared into his eyes,
 Then I touched his face.
      I traced my fingers,
To the familiar contours of his body.
I reached around and gave him a hug.
Then I put my ears to his chest.
To where I know his heart would be.
I hear the familiar sound of its beating,
    'Lub dub, Lub dub'

Then I heard the music.
And I know I am home.
