The burning rope

The burning rope

A Poem by Carissa Marie
"

Some love just doesn't last

"
You gave me a rope
A bridge to your heart
A sweet security
That we'll never be apart.
But you lit a fire
At the end of this rope
Asking
Will I keep holding on,
Even If I burn?
So I held on as tight as I could
While slowly burning
Proving to you
That I won't be going.
The fire burned the rope
And scarred my being
But even still
I just kept on holding.
I waited for you
Hoping you'd stretch your hand
Until I was hurt and scarred
You never helped me stand.
So I let go of the rope
So scorched and broken
But even then
You've never once spoken.
It was a false security
I should have noticed
The rope you gave
Was a hokus pokus.
You burned our bridges
And fooled my heart
So a whole lot of me
You took a part.
I learned my lesson
And have only me to blame
I believed the lies
With your love that came.
Now I'm done with love
And just trying to heal
All the hurt and scars
I hope not to feel.

Now the rope's turned to ashes
It turned to dust
Just a sad reminder
Of the difference of love to lust.

Ropes are hardly something that you could hold on for a long time. If you're not strong, you'll really fall down without any chances of getting back again because the rope is up there or if it's broken already. Ropes never provided any comfort at all to persons who needs to be saved from the misery that they are plunged into. Because ropes don't have supports either, that's why it always fail to what it should do.

What these people really need is a helping hand, because hands are connected to arms and arms are connected to a body. That at least can give any one an assurance that they can still be saved for everything that destroyed them. (:
