Wallflower

Wallflower

A Poem by Carissa Marie
"

My bestfriend challenged me to make a poem about him. :)

"
A wallflower,
So shy and so reserved.
Just a meek boy
Quietly observing
The scenes of everyday life.
I found him interesting
A science project in my eyes.
I wondered how a strange being could exist.
So cynical. So self-contained.
I found myself drawn to this mysterious being.
To know the secrets that he keeps.
But once I got sunk in, I could never get out.
I discovered the horrors
That this strange boy bears.
It broke my heart.
How could such fragile being,
Such as him fall into this dark abyss.
I kept pulling and pulling,
Trying to help him get out of his misery.
But he's deep down the muck.
No matter how hard I pull,
He keeps going back.
So I never let go.
Every now and then,
He'd go deeper
And then I have to start pulling back again.
And I know that I have to keep on doing this.
This never-ending falling and pulling.
Up until the moment that he could stand up
And get out.
But until then, this potential rose
Will always be
A wallflower.

Thank you sir. :)
Don't pull too hard you might rip his arm off. Good poem. I like how it comes full circle. Maybe as your friendship continues there will be a sequel to this poem.
