Lost lightA Poem by Carissa MarieAs I stare into the blankness in his eyes, I remember how those eyes used to glow With such beauty that steals my breath away. How they flicker like fire with a burning passion That never seem to fade. How they shine like the brightest star Way up in a place unknown. How they froze me in place And hold my entire being in that tiny moment that feels like eternity. I remember how the light suddenly fades, in those eyes That used to entrap me with its great wonders and mysteries. And how they turned cold and blank As If staring right into the eyes of the dead. As I stare into those eyes I see, A fading glimmer A sad reminder Of the man that used to be, Transformed into This stranger that stares at me.
