Insane as the rest

The world today has gone insane

and the people are starting to go with it 

I don't know when it began or even when it will end

 and I fear I am stating to be put to the test 

They worship green pieces of paper with pictures of their best   

Once a year they gather around a glittery ball and watch it drop, the next day not remembering anything at all but wanting to do it again next year with just as much zest. 

Between the glittering metal transporters that they depend on to go but two feet 

and the talking stones they prod to 'talk' to the person next to them

and need we not talk about the countless hours in front of the glowing screen, they think is the best. 

Oh, the world the world if you try to look at it rationally you grow crazy with lest 

Please help, Please help  

For I think I am going as crazy as the rest

ok so writers block again so I wrote this out of nothing, I tried to make it flow but see what you think and be honest!!
