First coming into to Carson City, a first impression
depends on where you come into it from, but the main way people ride into town
is coming right down from Reno and getting onto our shinny new highway that we
were all so proud of. Carson has the attitude of a big city bottled up into a
smaller town at about fifty thousand people, we have our big city chains like Wal-Mart
and Starbucks but there are also small local shops like Coma coffee. This mixed
personality also translates into our weather, it is not surprising here to see
snow on the ground after a nice 70 degree day.
This
is the town I was pleased to grow up in, I remember when I was about six and my
brother two years younger than me walking home with our grandma eating hot caramel
popcorn that she had spent the day making while we played in her back yard; the
school yard was also one of our favorite hang outs, it was only a street away from
our house and our entire family would go to play whatever in the gait field, we
would fly kites, play baseball, tag, hide and seek, whatever we could dream up,
our parents would take the dogs and they would run just right along with us
often giving up our hiding locations when we would play hide and seek. The
games were fun and after a long afternoon when the sun would go to bed, we
would walk back to our house and roast marsh mellows and make smores then sit
by the warming fire mom and dad would go to bed and me and my brother would
fall asleep in the warm summer night. Summer was indeed my favorite season in
Carson this is when my family was together the most.
