A poem to my first fiance.

This moment.

I hold on to you fast,

For in this moment

We will become

Real lovers at last.

This moment is of many months,

I see it as flashback photobooks,

Of intense memories

Laughter, hurt, joy, pain

Lost hope, Found paradise.

In this moment,

I hold you deeply

The world spins away from us

And all I see is you.

There is no sadness

Only relief

At seeing your simple smile

At feeling your love.

This moment protects us

From our own egos

Our desires and expectations

Our flaws, false perceptions

This moment protects us

From ourselves.

This moment is an entire lifetime

Wrapped with all sounds,

All flavors, all sights,

All around.

This moment

Is us.
