Affection -?

Affection -?

A Poem by caixue

I'm an affectionate woman,
as affectionate as any woman could ever be.
I would lay bare my naked bosom for your tears,
my ears; your woes
and the depths of my hearts for your secrets
-all without a glimpse of hesitation.

I would clasp onto you in my arms
till day -nor dark -nor even the end of the world.
Kiss your aches and whisper you sweet nothings,
till the day you care for me no more.

But they argue I am a cold woman;
a shell without care or warmth of love.
-For my affection stops at not one man -one woman -one child.

To touch your cheek,
to ruffle your hair like I would any other man.
The pain you feel will never compare to mine.
For this body who longs all the faces it sees
-knows that to love all
-also means to love nothing at all.
