Untitled 3

A Poem by Caitlain McGuire

It's sitting by the overcoat,
The second shelf, the note he wrote
That I can't bring myself to throw away
It brings back better times
When you fit me like a perfect rhyme
Now all that we talk about is blame
We might have had a mis-communication
Maybe we got lost in translation
Or maybe we just had a bad day
And I just wanted to tell you
Despite the things we could do
I wouldn't have had it any other way

Really good poem, it's honest and flows very well. Especially loved the first stanza.
Well penned :)

I liked this poem. It was simple, but universal at the same time. "All we talk about is blame" is a good line that gives light to the fact that people spend much of their arguments trying to prove who is right and wrong. The mystery of the note is something that stood out. There is a note in the coat, but you do not discuss what it says. I like that. The note does not need to be discussed, it says whatever the reader wants it to say. This makes the poem more universal.

Everything that happens is part of the great puzzle that we are as individuals. Each event is important, bad or good as it becomes a learn lesson for us to learn and grow from. We will have our loves and we will have our pains. Each step is another step towards our destiny, a place not yet writen.

Great Ink!
