Untitled 2A Poem by Caitlain McGuireThe moonlight touched our skin We were staying up all night again And it's one of those little things I play over and over in the back of my head Finding a private spot on the beach My eyes were on you, and your hands were on me And we kissed in the water before you had to leave You've still got my lipstick stained on your sleeve Tracing your tattoo with my fingertips And your caressing my neck with my soft lips And when you say you love me, your eyes were lit It's those little things I can't forget Going out for late night drives With all our friends, good music and fries And we'd laugh at all the things we'd find I love the way you always shine And I know it's true The way that I love you And it won't end You've got me dancing around in my bedroom And my walls are coming down to let you through And I don't know how you did it, but I like it I like it And I smile every time you say my name And I know my world will never be the same I've got you, and you've got me And your green eyes are all I need And the crowds went wild and they cheered our name Confetti falls, and our world changed You looked at me without an ounce of shame And the critics knew that we changed the game You'd talk about your first drum set And when you first fell in love And how you liked Michael Jackson And his left handed glove And you said you were always happy Just getting to look at me And I know I'll never see it; I'll never see what you see And that night you had a break down And the lights were flashing You asked me why I wasn't there When I knew you were crashing And I'll never forgive myself For letting you down But I know we've got each other And that's all that matters now © 2013 Caitlain McGuireReviews
