Grow

Grow

A Poem by Caite Czapowski

Bring back the days where I was excited to grow.

Give me the days where I was being held in my mother’s arms unknowing of the world outside.

The days where everything was so innocent, and didn’t feel so chaotic.

I once believed everything will be alright.

Now I know what life brings, and now I know how it will play tricks.

Life wants to keep you on your feet.

For if you conquer life you will find yourself standing proud.

You will remember how good it feels to grow.

As a new mother, I remember being very young and, whenever a problem arose, the answer was "Come here. Mommy fix. See? All better". Although I get stressed and sometimes wish I could go back, I wouldn't. After everything I've been through, I'm proud of what I've done and who I've become. Very good transition from yearning for the past to being ready for the present.

I enjoyed this poem ..the first sentence caught my attention because as we grow older we seem to want to go back to the days of safety a place where we were loved and comfortable with people who accepted us ...you did an excellent job thank you for your beautiful words
