The Entrance of Fall

The Entrance of Fall

A Story by caitlinrosecyr

The harsh fall winds blows the summer breeze out of days that are now becoming shorter. It's as if summer just snapped. The leaves are changing from greens to oranges, red, yellows, detaching themselves from the trees to which they once belonged to, before crumbling on the ground.

Summer is fading, fall is rushing in, the moment I live for. Not the "Welcome back students" banners above every entryway, but the feel of fall.

Fall is the perfect season. Things are settling from the too hot summer. Young children are nervous yet excited for the start of school, backpacks that just barely fit their frames hanging from their backs.

The older I got, the more anticipation I had waiting for Halloween, the more anxiety for the new school year to begin.

I dread fall, but I adore it too.
