The Three

The Three

A Poem by Caitlin Lea
"

Caught in a desperate, hopeless dance.

"

She is

Unyielding,

Ever clinging

To his

Mighty frame--

Their exchange

A tragic

Drama

Fixed

By earthly

Law.

I am

The third,

The white

Shadow

In the periphery

Of her vision.

He is

The radiance

Which inspires

 My livelihood.

She is bold,

The epitome

Of living,

Her buds,

His spawn.

My body,

Barren.

I catch

His eye,

Clasp

His heat

Only

Fleetingly.

We are

The three,

Caught

In a desperate

Hopeless

Dance.
