Solo Hobo

Solo Hobo

A Poem by Caitlin Lea
"

...Always he searches yonder and here....

"

Adam, a solo hobo,

Lonesomely wanders

Window to window.

Always he searches

Yonder and here.

Somewhere

Is a mirror--

Not new, not shiny--

Made of sturdy stuff.

Years scratch her face,

Her hardened

Exterior is warped.

Angles are sharpened by

Regrets.

Tragic choices,

Never forgotten,

Order his steps.

Mirror, mirror, wherefore

Are you?

Truth would set him free, but

Time is not his friend.

Echoes of a whistling train

Ring coldly in his head.

Where is she,

His mirror?

Always he will seek her

To the end of dusky eve.

I like it!
Honestly, this captured my attention from the very first line, and carried me right through to the end.
It's sad, and it's gorgeous. :)
