A Weed in the Garden

A Weed in the Garden

A Poem by Caitlin Lea

I smell a foul intrusion

In the garden.

I can see it--

It's a weed.

I would pull it--

Toss it to the wind,

But my eyes weep sighs

For the garden that's not mine.

The joy of fragrant blooms

Dies a pungent death

At the hands

Of an

unholy

bi-petal

weed.
