Frozen

Frozen

A Poem by Caitlin Lea

Ice.
sun is
gone.
He is not

Sure
about her.
She breaks.
Shrapnel

In ventricles
no surgeon
removes.
Her queendom

all ice-
elation.
No firm
decision

required.
No Sun
need bother
the cold.

In her way,
she is
safe.
The sun

cannot
betray
while she
sleeps

trusting
in the
Meadow.
Who

invades
the quiet
sanctuary?
Whose eyes

see her
bare back
as the
Sun

stabs it?
Ice.
Sun is not
sure

about her.
Devotion
turns to
apathy

when it
freezes.

I really love the ending..."devotion turns to apathy when it freezes." I like the way you switch words around within the same frame.
