A Poem by caitlainmcguire
"

Something I wrote in a few minutes.

"

I knew I was in love again

When the songs that once reminded me of him

Now remind me of you.

As I sit here and I wait,

And wait, and wait,

Your face engraved in my mind like a crown tattoo.

Black, velvet night,

Stars piercing, creating infinite spotlights

For my desperation to really shine through.

As I lie awake and I wonder

If your eyes are still open,

If you’re thinking about me, too.

Pen to paper, racing mind,

I’m not sure what souls are made of,

But yours and mine are the same kind.

Yet I unravel while you stand strong,

I try to decide if this fall is wrong,

Or if everything has finally aligned.
