(SONG) Daylight Robot/Midnight DreamerA Poem by CaganI really enjoyed writing my Daylight Robot poem, and was inspired to create song lyrics based on it.
Notes: italics mark the prechorus, bold marks the chorus, and underlining marks the brigde. The rest is the verses.
DAYLIGHT ROBOT/MIDNIGHT DREAMER--Rough draft song lyrics Wake up Out of bed Brush my teeth Comb my head Same as every single day Out the door Off to work Greet my boss Who’s still a jerk Asking when the world turned gray? Go home Go to bed Close my eyes Rest my head But I must wake up someday And as the daytime creeps along The daylight robot sings her song Waiting for the sky to turn gold The days are but the hours That keep her from her dreams When I’m asleep Then I am free I can be anything And everything That I could want to be My sole release From reality And the midnight dreamer finally set free Wake up Out of bed Another day Another dread It’s just too early for this Every day More of the same No wonder I Can’t keep sane When’s the last time I felt bliss? And as the daytime creeps along The daylight robot sings her song Waiting for the sky to turn gold The days are but the hours That keep me from me When I’m asleep Then I am free I can be anything And everything That I could want to be My sole release From reality And my midnight dreamer Is finally set free Dreaming, scheming Flying, soaring Life is boring When dreams are soaring Dreaming, screaming Falling, pouring Life is boring ~ When I’m asleep Then I am free I can be anything And everything That I could want to be My sole release From reality And my midnight dreamer Is finally set free © 2015 CaganAuthor's Note
