Daylight Robot/Midnight DreamerA Poem by CaganThe days are but the hours that keep me from my dreamsI am asleep when I'm awake And awake when I'm asleep My days are monotonous My actions robotic My mood constant A thinly veiled depression That covers all I do The brief moments of happiness Forgotten the next morning When I wake up and remember I must endure another day I waste away the hours As a sleepwalking shell Until I can finally go to sleep I wait for my dreams And their wild adventures My only escape From this dreary reality For contest: By Cagan Hawthorne, a female 16 year old student who writes poetry when bored or sad during school. Cagan also enjoys creative writing, drawing, and computer science, and hopes to become a novelist.
