dawn hauntings

dawn hauntings

A Poem by Not Afraid of Bruises

I could hear the helicopters floating,

Skimming over my head with

Their legs just barely touching

The long stems of grass.

And I couldn’t sleep at night, for all the noise

Reminded me of us.

Reminded me of the sounds of gunfire, the rapid

Silence that follows as human bodies, now shells, are buried where

Cameras won’t ever see them or record their passing.

I used to sleep at night,

When it was quiet and now the helicopters remind me

That in the dark, I am never standing alone even if the room

Where I reside is empty.

oh i know when it starts time for arms ,each will say its my duel ,i have a just cause ,i will fight for it ,i will restore humanity its lost rights i will bring them freedom ,take all their fears away i will restore order for those outlaws,i will fight a just cause till the end and i will come with victory so all hail me ,but at the dark at night or at place where no eyes can see ,or behind hidden far away places ,i will tell you what i dream and what i see,i see horrors ,bodies all around ,i can not even count ,i see blood all around ,who are these ,no body tell ,battle losses, all i see misery aches and fear and horrors,i could only no one is ever here ,and i wonder where are you come to celebrate victory ,i could see everywhere ,come with me ,but i am all alone how am i here, between all these miserables,oh the glory of war and justice ,oh humanity what have they done in your name, they shed lots of blood taken so many lives ,all in your poor name,oh dear humanity ,i am filled with grief at this sight in front of me ,let me bury them before they are rotten meat ,then i will discuss it with you ,humanity
