A Poem by Not Afraid of Bruises
"

when I can't think of a title, I number the poem - just explaining

"

take the

hammer, have

little

pity for the child.

build a shelter

over the

bulging bellies

the starving eyes

so the sun

won’t be offended.

They’re only people,

            dying.

The thoughts that this piece leave me with are much bigger than the poem itself.
I don't know if you want your reader to 'understand' anything from this but it certainly made me think.
It made me think about all the people who are aware of these people yet fail to do something. I guess their pity is only 'little'. Stories of famine and poverty are brought in to our lives a few times a year, people are disgusted at it, and then go on living their lives slowly forgetting until next time they see such images on the news. Whether that was your intention, I don't know, but I don't think it matters as long as something was conveyed. That's what I got from it and thats the way I like to review poetry. Thanks for sharing. So few words but so great a meaning! No one cares anymore about the suffering or pain of others; where has everyone's moral compass gone? This is very good! Take care~~~
