Latin IVA Poem by Not Afraid of BruisesNote that the image for this is totally random...Wrote this as part of a creative writing assignment - hope the images came out well.
The room tastes of chalk and coffee in mugs, quickly
hidden under desks whenever a teacher wanders by the door.
Lost in here, desks gather haphazard into groups
and students procrastinate and divide paragraphs for work
they will never complete.
Buried in piles covered by voices,
Green Eggs and Ham in Latin blares out silently as the
Blackboard becomes a wall meant for
Learning, artwork and creativity.
One set of evil eyes with a grinning mouth
And good-natured smile encourages the work, the chatter
As eleven students linger in their words, drag out the moments
until work will half to begin again.
Once a student now the wall fly observes the world it left behind
When times were hard and ease came at a graded price.
